December Family Newsletter
A season of love, joy, and celebration as we await the coming of Christ, Emmanuel!
Dear Immaculate Conception Family,
As we joyfully step into the sacred season of Advent, I extend warm greetings to our beloved school community. This time of anticipation and reflection holds profound significance, guiding our hearts toward the imminent celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Advent beckons us to embrace the virtues of hope, love, joy, and peace. In the midst of the hustle and bustle, let us find moments of stillness to contemplate the true meaning of Christmas, fostering a spirit of gratitude for the blessings that grace our lives.
As the principal of ICS, I am grateful for the unwavering commitment of our dedicated educators, the enthusiasm of our students, and the strong support of our parents. Together, we form a community that exemplifies the love of Christ.
May this Advent season be a time of spiritual renewal, drawing us closer to the warmth of God's love and the promise of redemption. Let us extend our hands in kindness and share the light of Christ with others.
Wishing you and your families a blessed Advent filled with hope, love, and the joyful anticipation of the miracle that unfolded on that holy night in Bethlehem.
In Christ's Love,
Morris Johnson
Principal, ICS
Dear Immaculate Conception School Community,
We are filled with immense gratitude as we reflect on the tremendous success of our Thanksgiving dinner, made possible by the unwavering support and collective effort of our extraordinary students and their families. The spirit of unity and generosity displayed by each participant truly exemplifies the core values that define our close-knit community.
This year's Thanksgiving dinner was nothing short of remarkable, as we welcomed a record number of attendees. The warmth and camaraderie that permeated the event created an atmosphere of joy and inclusivity, making it a memorable occasion for all. It was heartwarming to witness the diverse members of our community coming together to share in the spirit of gratitude and fellowship.
The tireless dedication of the Thanksgiving team, led by Mrs. Francine, Mr. Marty and Sr. Francis, played a pivotal role in the event's success. Their meticulous planning, organizational skills, and compassionate leadership ensured that over 500 hot turkey dinners were served with efficiency and a touch of genuine care. The smiles on the faces of those who enjoyed the meal were a testament to the positive impact such community gatherings can have on individuals.
As we express our deep thanks for everyone's contribution, we also acknowledge that it is the collective effort of our community that makes such events possible. The generosity of time, resources, and spirit demonstrated by each member has left an indelible mark on the fabric of our school community. Your commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness and compassion has not only enriched the Thanksgiving celebration but has strengthened the bonds that define us as a community.

On Thursday, December 7th, we were able to come together to celebrate our inaugural Eagle’s Circle induction. The Eagle’s Circle is group of ICS students who exemplify our root beliefs as a school. Students who are inducted into the Eagle’s Circle earn special privileges (choice lunch seats, special dress down days, and free admission to school events). Membership in the Eagle’s Circle is maintained by having consistently good attendance and punctuality, being in full uniform daily, and continuing to live by our root beliefs, which are:
● We are made in the image and likeness of God.
● We are made for each other.
● We can do hard things.
● We are always learning
● Jesus calls us by name.
For the month of November, teachers nominated students who demonstrated the characteristics associated with the root belief that we are made for each other. Congratulations goes to:
As we continue forward in the month of December we will be focusing on the root belief Jesus calls us by name. Students best exemplify this root belief by emulating the key characteristics and kindness of Christ. Here are some ways students can work toward demonstrating this root belief:
Kindness First: Practice kindness in your words and actions. Treat others with respect and compassion, embodying the teachings of Christ.
Active Listening: Demonstrate Christ-like behavior by actively listening to your peers and teachers. Show genuine interest in what others have to say and be empathetic to their needs.
Helping Hand: Extend a helping hand to those in need. Whether it's assisting a classmate with their work or supporting someone going through a tough time, embody the spirit of Christ through your willingness to help.
Inclusive Attitude: Embrace diversity and foster inclusivity. Christ welcomed everyone, and so should you. Be inclusive, accepting, and respectful of differences among your peers.
Forgiveness: Practice forgiveness when conflicts arise. Learn to let go of grudges and promote reconciliation, reflecting the forgiving nature of Christ.
Prayer and Reflection: Take time for personal reflection and prayer. Connect with your faith regularly to strengthen your spiritual well-being.
Humility: Cultivate humility in your achievements and interactions. Acknowledge your strengths with gratitude, and recognize that everyone has unique talents given by God.
Positive Speech: Mind your words and strive for positive communication. Avoid gossip and negative talk, fostering an environment where words uplift and inspire.
Respect for Authority: Respect the authority of teachers, staff, and school leaders. Understand that obedience and respect contribute to a harmonious learning community.
Community Service: Engage in acts of service. Volunteer your time for community projects, reflecting Christ's teachings on love and service to others.
We cannot wait to welcome our next set of inductees for December’s Eagle’s Circle ceremony.
